PATENTED TRIAXIAL HINGE

Single axis and polycentric hinges were designed prior to research that measured the geometric characteristics of knee motion. All other hinges, regardless of misleading names like "multi-centric", are still simple single axis or double axis hinges which are proven to promote a mechanical mismatch that includes brace migration.

  

NEAR-NORMAL HINGE MOVEMENT

A functional knee brace must produce near-normal joint motion with minimal restrictions. These criteria may be obvious, but clearly many ACL braces fail to meet them. The simplistic movement of single axis and polycentric hinges are incompatible with the complex motion generated by the knee.

The Mueller Patented Triaxial Hinge brace manages to produce near-normal joint motion with minimal restrictions.

Triaxial means that these hinges have 3 rivets instead of the usual 1 or 2. This gives a more natural movement than a standard hinge. They will feel less restrictive while offering a superior level of support to the joint. The 2 hinges are not connected which means they work independtly of each other.
